BLOG: Biphobia

Jessica Kuntze

Bisexuals are confused, greedy, secretly gay. Bi women hook-up with other women at bars and clubs just to impress straight men. Bi men are really just gay and haven’t come to terms with their sexuality yet.

“Biphobia is aversion towars bisexuality and toward bisexual people as a social group or as individuals.”

(Wikipedia)

With bisexuals making up a large chunk of the LGBTQ+ community, you would think that they would be included a lot more than they are, receiving a lot of biphobic comments from others within the community as well as from straight people. Bi individuals are seemingly invisible, especially when your sexuality gets based off the gender of your partner, making us feel left out within a community we are part of.

In this day-and-age, no one should be made to feel like shit for their sexuality, especially those who have been struggling with it for a while. There are a lot of bisexual individuals who have gone through many stages of realising their sexuality before coming out only to have those around them make snide comments about said sexuality.
