Aged care facilities incorporate more hygiene practices to keep residence safe

Aged care facilities have been required to increase their hygiene practices to prevent Coronavirus from being brought into the facility and spread throughout the residence.

Older individuals, and those with underlying health issues are at higher risk of getting Coronavirus, and often experience worse symptoms than others.

Villa Maria Centre, in Unanderra, has taken the advice and informed staff of the new procedures they need to take before and during their shift to ensure the safety of residence.

Each resident at this facility has responded differently to one another in relation to what is currently happening due to their levels of alertness and knowledge of the pandemic.

Recreational liaison officer, Rachel Hockey discusses what hygiene practices she is required to complete when at work, along with extra preventative measures she is taking to lower the risk of brining Coronavirus inside the workplace.
